Match the giveaway to what your booth is there to win

Booths are generally aiming to fulfil one of three needs: draw footfall, start qualified conversations or stay in front of prospective customers after the show. Which product you need, depends on which of these is your priority.

A high-volume, low-cost item draws footfall. A useful item that gets kept stays in front of a qualified buyer. A considered gift leads to a booked meeting. These are different purchases, and naming the goal first sets the spec.

A footfall run and a single premium gift are not the same buy, so naming the goal first, determines your quantity. A few products provide no real floor on order size. Therefore, we recommend both a large handout run, and one premium gift; this creates footfall, and provides qualified conversations, without blowing the budget.

For footfall, a low-cost item covers the most hands for the spend, so Pens and Writing and Bags are the usual starting points. For a kept conversation item, Drinkware sits on a desk and keeps the brand in view for weeks.

When the booth's job is to be remembered by a qualified buyer, A footfall item is the wrong call. Choose a useful item that gets kept and reused instead, because reach without retention wastes the spend. This is why you should decide your goal before you even open the gallery, it determines which trade show promotional products are best suited to you and your customers.

Trade show promotional items are a cost-effective way to keep your brand in front of qualified buyers long after the event ends. Unlike a one-time ad, a useful item used again and again keeps your company visible at offices, on desks, and in daily routines. A well-chosen giveaway unifies your booth staff too, giving your team a professional, consistent look that puts the brand front and center on the floor.

Once the item is set, the decoration method follows the logo

You should choose your item, material and logo colours before the decoration method.

Once you've chosen your goal and your item, these four rules help you choose the most effective decoration method.

Each method does a different job, so match it to the item and the artwork you have.

For metal drinkware and pens, laser engraving is often the best choice for a premium, permanent mark. This is because the logo is etched into the item itself and cannot rub, wash, or scratch off.

However, for printing logos with one or two solid colours in a large run, spot print will be the cheapest option per unit. This means screen or pad printing, one screen per colour.

For a full-color, gradient, or photographic logo, digital print is the answer. This is because full color costs the same as one color with no per-color screen charge.

For booth-staff polos and caps, embroidery is the best choice. This is where the logo is stitched into the fabric for an upscale, durable look that survives repeated wear.

Most of these methods work well on Notebooks and Journals. They are a good place to start when the giveaway items should last.

On bulk runs of wholesale promotional items, low color count keeps the spot-print cost down, while booth-staff Apparel usually points to embroidery.

Nothing is printed until you approve the proof

Still deciding where to start?

Most first-time conference buyers land on lanyards and badge holders, because every attendee wears one and the lead time is predictable. From there, most people are focused on booth presence, where a banner or flag or a branded table cover can set your visual anchor to draw people in. Finally, most first-time buyers land on a high volume, low cost take-home giveaway item such as keychains or stickers and decals. They keep your cost per unit low enough to hand them out at every stop.

Still stuck? Tell us the show date and the goal, and we will match you with the right item type, and send a proof for your approval.

FAQ's

Start from the booth's goal, whether that is footfall, better conversations, or staying memorable then you can match the item type to it. Naming the goal first turns the gallery into a shortlist.

A low-cost, high-volume item like a pen, tote, or lanyard covers the most hands for the spend when reach is the goal. It wins on cost per hand, not on lasting value.

Trade show promotional items are commonly used for booth giveaways, drawing footfall, starting qualified conversations, and staff apparel and branding. They also serve as leave-behind gifts for target accounts, company events, product launches, and brand marketing at conferences and industry shows.

The item and the logo decide: laser engraving for a premium permanent mark on metal, screen or pad printing for one or two solid colors at volume, and embroidery for upscale apparel. Full-color or photographic logos call for digital print instead. Our team can help you decide what decorative method suits your items best!

Some items start at a minimum of one, while others are higher, we recommend both a single premium gift and a large footfall run. Exact minimum quantities are listed on each product page.
