Without the Late Deliveries, Wrong Prints, or Hidden Costs.
A sewn-in woven label is what makes clothing look like your company's own piece instead of blank stock. The customized woven labels you order start with the weave, because damask holds fine detail and satin sits softer at the neck. Tell us what the clothing is and we'll help you get the label right, or start with the range below.

Simply, damask when the label carries a wordmark, small type, or thin line work, and satin when the label sits at the neck of a shirt worn next to the skin. Damask has a matte background with a contrasting thread carrying your design, and that contrast is what keeps thin strokes from closing up at label size.
Satin is woven with a shiny face, so it's the smoothest of the common weaves against the skin. That same shine takes away the edge contrast fine type needs, so a detailed crest comes out better in damask.
Taffeta is the flat, plain-weave option and the lowest cost of the three. It's coarser and stiffer at the edge, which is fine for an internal size marker on a bulk run and wrong for anything a customer sees or wears against the neck. If size markers are all you need, we'll say so rather than sell you the better weave.
| Weave | Detail it holds | Feel against skin | Cost position | Best used for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Damask | Fine type and thin lines | Soft to medium | Middle | Brand labels in the neck or side seam |
| Satin | Simple marks, less fine type | Softest | Middle | Neck labels on shirts worn next to the skin |
| Taffeta | Basic text and size markers | Stiffer, coarser | Lowest | Internal size markers on bulk runs |
Damask and satin are the two personalized woven labels most companies end up ordering, and we match the weave to the clothing before any artwork is drawn.
Every color in your design is a separate thread in the weave, so a lower color count weaves cleaner and reads better at label size. Your brand color is set from a Pantone number, the numbered color system that keeps it the same on every reorder. We match that number to the nearest available thread rather than hit it exactly.
How fine the weave runs also sets the smallest stroke that stays legible, so we draw the artwork to the label instead of sizing the label around an existing logo file.
Use an end fold on a neck or waistband label, because it hides both raw ends under one stitch line and leaves no cut edge to fray. A straight cut leaves a raw edge that has to be sealed or folded before it will survive washing. A center fold gives you two usable faces and one sewn edge, which works on a hem or a side seam when you want a short care line on the back face.
A loop or miter fold sews at both tails and stands proud of the fabric as a visible finishing detail. Pick the placement first, because a neck, a side seam, and a hem each sew differently, and each one needs margin between your design and the stitch line. Without that margin the seam runs straight through the wordmark.
Custom sew on labels for clothing are the right call for anything laundered on a schedule. Iron-on backing holds with adhesive, and that adhesive lets go at a corner after repeated washing, where a stitch line holds. If what you want is your branding on the outside of the clothing as decoration, that's a different product, and custom patches answer it.
Nothing is printed, stitched, or shipped until you approve it, minimums start as low as 1 unit and vary by product, and if a proof lands wrong, we remake it. A woven design is set the moment it's woven, so the proof is your one chance to catch a sizing, color, wording, or fold error before production runs.
Not sure which garment to lock in first, start with a plain crew or polo run through custom apparel and put custom woven clothing labels on it, that's the safe default for uniform rosters, onboarding kits, and client gift runs alike since the label outlasts dozens of washes regardless of the shirt underneath.
Two forks from there. Running a dated event or trade-show shift, filter to t-shirts and keep the same label spec. Handing out headwear alongside the shirts, hats take custom woven clothing labels just as well, no separate spec needed. Send your logo file, the garment, and a rough quantity, our team writes back the weave, fold, and placement on a digital proof within minutes for you to approve.
Brand labels in uniform and workwear programs, onboarding apparel kits, gift apparel, and event outerwear. The label is what identifies the clothing as your company's, and on anything laundered often it carries the size and care information for the life of the piece too.
Damask for detail, satin for softness at the neck. Damask has a matte background that gives thin strokes enough contrast to stay legible, and satin has a shiny face that feels smoother against skin but softens the edges of fine type.
Sew-on, on anything that goes through a wash cycle regularly. Iron-on relies on a heat-activated adhesive, and that adhesive is the part that fails first under repeat washing, usually lifting at a corner.
Fiber content, care symbols, country of origin, and the brand name. A dense multi-language care panel with full symbol sets is a printed label's job rather than a woven one, so there we'd recommend a printed care label paired with a small woven brand label.
Order minimums start as low as 1 unit, and the minimum for each item is listed on its own product page. Setup for a label design is one-time, and reorders of the same design reuse it.
